Those 1st Gen senders are notorious for failing in different ways. Mine shows full for the 1st 30 miles or so then drops to E. I've had it out twice to clean and inspect, but no luck. Might even be the gauge for all I know. I'll keep running it as long as the low fuel light works. If that ever craps out I will install a new custom sender and sump, wire it to switch/share the Autometer gauge I have for the aux tank and ditch the stock pickup cannister altogether.

$325 for that? No forkin' way.
