1993 Dodge Diesel - high reving
I'm working on a 1993 Dodge 3/4ton 4x4 5.9l diesel. The truck wouldn't start but would crank over. I was told it was the fuel shut off solenoid. So I replaced the fuel shut off solenoid and the truck fired up. It ran a little rough, but chalked it up to the truck sitting for 2 months. Took it for a test drive and the throttle acted like it stuck. The pedal didn't feel like it was stuck. Pulled over and looked at the linkage and it's moving freely. But when i start the truck it idles like the throttle is wide open, but the throttle linkage is not moves when the truck is started. What could be causing it? Could it be a throttle position sensor?
not that I know of. I just changed the fuel shut off solenoid, but didn't tweek with anything else. Could i have bumped something or knocked something loose in the process and it adjust it self while driving?
