Default voltage regulater/ECM/PCM

Well, I fell victim to the voltage regulater, after doing alot of searching and trying to find the better route to take, I have a company that will rebuild your ECM for around 150.00 and give a lifetime warranty.

there phone number is

You can just bypass it and install a 91 or older stand alone regulator for a third of that.

Default pcm bypass

can you hook up power to a wire comming from the pcm to power the speedo and o/d? what if you have a three wire speed sensor? isn't one of the wires supposed to have 8 volts going to it ? I can't remember what sites had it supposedly you can just hook up 12 volts where you are supposed to have 8 volts supply power. will that work also? truck has auto trans.

I'm new to the Dodge Cummins and would like to hear an answer to master6789338's question. I'm replacing a 1991 engine with another 1991 engine and there's a difference in the ECM's on the trucks they came out of. On my truck the ECM is in the driver's side fender well behind the battery. On the truck I got my new engine form there's a very small ECM?? mounted to the firewall below the brake booster. I've got to figure out a way to wire this in. I also have a fairly well hacked and spliced engine bay wiring harness to go through. The cold start timing advanced was just wired into the same terminal as the regular pump shutoff valve so there's obviously some corrections I need to make.

I do like the idea of being able to repair the ECM for $150 and will look into that once I get the wiring corrected.
