to all you guys out there who dragrace their trucks , what are your methods . clutch / auto? 4hi/ 2wheel? try to build boost onthe line before lighting the second bulb ? I already have lotsa runs in my car , but curious about the best way to race my 1st gen .

NON lock-up 46RH, 4WDhi. I creep to the 1st bulb and wait for the other guy to fully stage. I quickly build up boost and inch into the 2nd bulb.

If your tree has the top/middle bulb that flashes till the guy pushes the auto-start button, wait until the top/middle light goes solid (meaning auto-start is on). Wait in the first bulb till the top/middle light goes solid, quickly build boost and creep into the 2nd beam and be prepared to go.

> Sitting there, all reved-up, full launch boost, etc, . . .waiting . . . . for everyone else to get around to it does nothing but flash-heat the trans fluid in the converter. That makes it thin and it won't hook-up like cooler fluid would.

5psig ~ 10psig boost at launch would be all I'd try with a trans with stock shafts.
