good buy?
hey everybody, i'm new to the site and to the diesel world. I've been fond of diesel trucks forever and I'm finally have a chance to buy one.
It's a 92 I believe (could be a 91 or 93 though)
it has roughly 300,000 on the clock
it's a 5 speed W250 LE Club Cab
It's in Cali, and i'm thinking it's been here for its whole life because i looked around it pretty well and found no traces of rust on the doors, rockers, bed, or quarters.
It's definitly towed a lot as it belongs to my Land Lord who runs a tree service company.
Paint is in good shape, interior is black leather and looks well broken in, but good
I know he did the rear main seal recently and a couple other little things I can't remember, I need to talk to him more seriously about it.
talking to him casually about it, but he threw out 4000. I was going to try to get him down around 2700-3.
Wondering if this sounds like a good buy and also any specific questions to ask in order to bring any potential expensive issues to light.
I have a good running car right now, but i'm sick of not being able to do anything with it, so i'd sell it. Just want to make sure i'm not selling a good car to buy a headache.
Any info is helpful, Thanks

The very cheapest a truck like that comes along around here is $4k... but usually around $7-10k. Autos tend to be a bit cheaper and more commonly for sale.
I got mine for $4k and its rough. Mechanically okay, but the body is cracked all over from vibration and flying down washboarded roads.
