Default Trans questions

OK, my trans is about to pack up and leave and I have been weighing my options as far as rebuilding/swapping. I thought about a 47rh swap just simply because I want overdrive and a locking converter. What would be the upsides/downsides of that and what would be required in doing so. Now as far as rebuilding a 727 what is the best way to do so for a street driven truck that occasionally hauls. If anyone could shine some light on my pondering that would be great. I dont have an infinite amount of money to spend on this but would really like to have a good, reliable trans. Thanks

First you will have to change out the engine adapter plate to one off a 47rh engine, started to I believe driveshaft will have to be shorted, trans mount will have to be modified, then you'll have to figure out how to get OD and lock-up to work (they have kits for that).
