Is there any difference in a 205 t-case thats bolted up to a auto compared to one thats bolted up to a Getrag? A friend is giving me their t-case that was bolted up to a getrag and id like to use it with my A-518 tranny. Are possibly the splines on the shafts different or something? I dont have the one out of my truck yet to compare them. Thanks.

I retract.... I read this thread on 1st gen... Thats what I was thinking of...

It was not AA making them... Pain pills tend to cloud your memory.![Laugh](https://www.dieselbombers.com/images/smilies/laugh2.gif)
Looks like Mark Nixion has one, maybe he will chime in....
This will let you run the stronger Getrag NP205 behind your automatic tranny.

i looked into making a 47re that i had work with my truck and im pretty sure that the 205 will bolt up. im not sure about the clearance with the seal on the t-case though. and you will have to change out a few things to get the 47re or 48re work. ud basically have to change it into a 47rh. things like o/d unit, valve body, torque converter, planetaries, adapter plate, starter and stuff like that. 1stGen.org • View topic - 47re to 47rh parts . i just deciede to save time and money and use a A-518.
