Default Radio lights but STILL no sound

So I put in a new MOPAR radio from a Jeep and still no sound. So am I missing something? Is there a fuse I should check? It lights with the headlights but no sound!

I pulled on out of a van in the boneyard, and same thing, got another and it worked fine.

Billy,

So what exactly did your busted radio do? See mine is completely off until I pull the headlights on and then the lights on radio turn on but not the radio itself or its screen. Does this seem like what you were experiencing?

What year Jeep? The CAN BUS system in the newer Chrylslers plays hell with electronics. Also could have some sort of security syestem in it.

Its a 90's radio and has a tape player. I dont think its the radio since its doing the same thing that the last radio did.

I pulled a radio out of a 91 ram, on the install of the 1st boneyard radio, it turned on, lights worked, but no sound, I didn't check the cassette deck. Duno why, I returned it, and got another that was already pulled, and it worked.

I would go buy a $50 deck at wal-mart and just wire it so you now whats up. battery power and key on power. battery power keeps the time and radio stations in memory key on turns the radio on. It takes a little time but once you do it you will be able to wire any truck.
