Default low fuel light

I've had Goldie for a few years, and I never knew I had a low fuel light
Guess I've never ran it that low, I guess.

I see that light once in a while, and it freaks me out . any body have any idea how much fuel is supposed to be in the tank? or is every truck different , of course I could see how much fuel it takes to fill up.

Mine comes on when it has 8 gallons left. I usually run it until the light comes on and it always takes 22 gallons to fill.

yep thats what I get too so 8 gals at 28MPG = 244 miles till empty

I get about 825 miles to a tank so when the light comes on I got 1/4 tank left LMAO

and if you pay any attn at all while driving when you run out it will kinda sputter reach down and turn it off at the 1st sign and 99% of the time if you catch it you dont have to bleed

no blown fuses, rest of the cluster operates fine... thanks for the insult big bad, to think i didnt check the fuses ... as i run out to the truck hahahaha but last i checked the fuse block all of my fuses were in tact and my low fuel light hasnt worked for YEARS, used to work... quite often actually thats why i thought the bulb was burnt out. i bought my truck off my aunt and her daughters ran the thing around on fumes constantly. next time im tinkering with it i'll double check myself, if im wrong i'll break out my asshat and go for a stroll around the block is the fuse integrated with other circuits or on its own?

Yeah, every truck is different. Classic Dodge wiring FUBAR. The owners manual says the light should come on when there's a 5th left in the tank, (that's 20% BTW, not a 5th like your favourite sippin' beverage! ). So, 5 into 30 gives you 6, or 6 gallons when the light is supposed to come on.
My truck is pretty darned close to that, but I never trust it and go by the mileage rather than the light.

Ya i found out that i have like 20 miles left when the light comes on. And ur fuel light might not work cuz a wire in the fuel cinder came unplugged.
