Default NV4500 plus all other running gear from a V10?

I have this posted in the general section too but i know there is lots of onfo over here so...

im trying to research the compatibility of my 1st gen 6bt and the nv4500 bell housing from a 98 v10. So far wat ive generally heard is that they bolt up but i will need to get a fly wheel from a 2nd gen. Can i get confermation on any of this? Does the 2nd gen 12 valve have the same bellhousing bolt pattern as a v10? And does the 1st gen have the same bolt battern as the 2nd gen? I know this conversion will be alot of work and headache but i like tweaking on things and i think the tranny will bolt up i can hack up the rest to fit (with some class hopefully). Thanks in advance for input.

I am pretty positive you are in the clear on bolt patterns, the only diference between a second gen and first gen bellhousing is the clutch fork and the slave cylinder on the 2nd gen's point towards the front of the engine and 1st gens point to the rear. In my truck i did the nv4500 and used a bellhousing out of an 01 and the clutch assembly with a little tweaking and it works great. Also when you do the rest of the drive train swap your front and rear end will be bout 3 inches wider then stock which looks good. I like mine alot i haven't finished my front yet though, keep me updated on yours

check out nv4500.com they have all the info you need. If i remember right you need the engine adapter (plate between the engine and bellhousing) from a 2nd gen. this will put your starter on the oposite side (some minor trimming of the framerail required. OR you can buy the custom bellhousing off the website. the gas engine trans is considered light duty and the diesel trans is heavy duty the input shaft on the gas trans is smaller diameter than the diesel trans. and the output spline count is different too ( this wont matter if it's 2wd or you use the np241 that it comes with.) I know this is true for the v8 models, maybe the v10 model is heavy duty like the diesel model is.......
