I doubt its there because i always assumed if it had one i would be able to hear it cut on when i turn the key. I could be and am probably wrong

No, you're quite correct. You can hear the solenoid clicking on and off quite clearly. I don't know about anyone else, but my voltage also drops as it cycles. Does the same on my 98.5.

If that is the case then it is missing in action! I have been pricing them, for everything including the chord its about 40 bucks so thats not bad.

Well i just got it home, it ran great all the way down here. It seems though as if i have run into a problem. Once i cut the truck off and try to start it back it acts as if the battery is dead. The previous owner "said" it had a new battery and alternator. I was wondering if maybe there is a bad connection somewhere? The meter in my truck when the key is on is not even showing ten

Thanks for the links, i really need to study up on the cummins But my blood still runs blue and sometime down the road this engine will be in my 1974 Hi-boy
