The pyrometer that I used was an isspro and I had a few spares in my parts room anyway, so I used a new one. I can send you pics if you need them.

ok man first things first once you get your air intake done you need gauges i would suggest autometer or isspro because if you go with a cheap gauge like gloshift or sumthin you will regret it and wind up having to spend the money again to buy new ones! i run the m3 fuel pin its a good pin lots of fuel on the bottom end i would go with the m4 for your fuel pin if you go with m&h also on your gauge pods i run the stock autometer pod and its like 20 bucks i have 2 of them trimmed to make a quad pod it looks good and has the best angle for the pod there easy to see now that your truck is straight piped and will have an air intake and gauges you can mess with the pump look on youtube fro videos they show you step by step when you put the fuel pin in take the plastic washer off and putt it in the glove box or in your shop and on your star wheel you can take the spring out and put it with your plastic washer in the glove box adnd the star wheel doesnt do a whole lot most people bottom it out thats where mine is and then install your governor spring and a turn or 2 on the power screw will make a huge difference then if you do the timing bump that will help alot also soo with about 120 bucks spent on your fuel pin and governor spring and about 250 on gauges your truck wont be the same butt tuning is every thing on these old trucks you can fart with the pump for weeks getting it tuned where you want it dont let what i say keep you from doin anything you want its your truck man good luck heres a pic of my gauges

hope this helps you man

Levi,
I appreciate your opinion man and everyone else's for that matter. I just aquired the tubing to go with my old smokey mount plate. aluminum irrigation pipe, 5" dia and it was free. so just need my filter element. I'm not touching the pump, other than a worn spring and linkage replace till I get gauges. I've made it this long on stock settings.
he gauge set up was the VDO pyrometer and VDO 30psi boost gauge from JEG'S along with the dual gauge pod. opinions? Then on to exhaust and then pump.

i'm too poor to pay someone to fab an exhaust. Besides Dad has 40+ years welding, so I get him to weld it up. We can't bend easily, but he does great mitered corners.
