Does anyone know what's involved in fitting a 3rd downpipe on a 1st gen? I'm converting to a he351ve. I've looked at pictures of the two and aside from the obvious necessary difference of the top bend, one using the cast elbow, the 3rd gen does not look like the bends are enough.
I know I've read of it being done, I'm just looking for some actual insight. Maybe a flexible piece of exhaust pipe, will that line them up?

 

That 3rd gen pipe has no chance of fitting on the truck. Get a hold of these guys and they can def set you up with the correct setup

A 2nd gen HX-40 style downpipe and a flange adapter off ebay will work. Both pieces can be had for under $100.

I've looked all over eBay and found some downpipes for $100 but nothing like you're talking about with DP and adaptor.

 

Why would you use a 2nd gen downpipe when they make an hx40 style down pipe that actually fits and is made for the 1st gen?

 

My goal was to find a DP that would work with the he351ve cast elbow, any DP that will work would be of interest. That would be optimal, 2nd choice would be any DP that can be made to work without the elbow.
