the site is photobucket Mark, idk why your AV did that, but mine hasnt and im running Norton. But back on subject, those are called the blocker rings and im guessing are designed to wear down.

What I had originally intended to post before my CPU was attacked was this:

Some of the Getrag synchro rings have a thin brass strip (more cheap engineering) bonded over a steel core and excessive heat will cause these to separate from the core.
Many times on a high mileage or neglected (there's that word "neglect", again) there will be chunks missing.
Most of the aftermarket companies sell full brass rings, but I'm still running into trannies with the cheap bonded ones in them.
