Being a intercooled engine, I hear that the factory injectors will net lower hp/tq then the non intercooled motors, correct?

So what kind of injectors should I look at for a mild gain over the stockers? I assume they sell different injector tips, and also whole injectors. Whats the lifespan of a injector? IDI world its roughly 100-150K miles on the average. This engine had 274K miles. Worthwhile to buy whole new injectors? Also, what a dumb injector design, hard to get them out! I thought the injector would be threaded into the head, but nope its not. Took several minutes on each to get them out.

Fuel pins, I've read about the Denny T's, and M&H pins. It seems these pumps have several different adjustments. On my buddies VE pump, we just turned in a screw that had a slieve tack welded to it to keep it from going farther, what screw is that? Do these pins replace those or go somewhere else?

Also the stock exhaust housing is 21cm and I hear laggy as all get out. This is a "H1C" turbo correct? Whats the difference between a H1C and a HX35, the exhaust housing/wastegate setup? I guess what I'm asking is is the compressor the same? HX40 a good upgrade?

Mods wont happen right away when I swap it in, but they will come. Looking at the following....

Fuel pin of some sort
Different exhaust housing at least (if not turbo replacement)
Injectors (might hold off)
Intercooler setup
Timing advanced
Tweak the VE pump as much as possible (stock pump)

Would that setup require an electric fuel pump, or is the stock lift pump up to par?

So many questions! I will start reading so feel free to post links if you like.

Your stock fuel pump won't like turning the pump up and bigger sticks, it will drag it down, and guages should be the first thing that you buy!!!!

I already have gauges. Isspro tach, pyro, boost (need a larger one as it goes 0-15psi), water temp, oil temp, volt, and oil pressure gauges. I'm set there

Gotta love the 6.9! I see your videos on youtube all the time. I'm in process of helping rebuild a 91 CTD.
