nah man dont let emm dog you on smoke i like to be able to smoke out *** holes sometimes butt as far as pump mods go you can take and move your throtle shaft to to the right and you get better throtle response. Take the top of your pump and rotate the fuel pin where the deep part is towards the front of the engine or the deepest part forwards then turn your afc or star wheel till it hits the bottom leave the afc spring out = deeper pin = more fuel put your pump top on and you can jack with your smoke screw(dont help much) then turn in your power screw 2 turns (i did 3) and that should get you plenty of power and smoke butt the next best thing is to install a 3200rpm gov spring (23.00@DNRcustoms.com) and a fuel pin (105.5$ at mandhinc or denny t) they help the most you will gain alot of power and to learn about what i said to do on the pump look im the first gen sticky

Check this out man. It should help you do whatever you wanna do to that fuel pump.
Turning up the pre 94 Ram diesel injector pump
Although i highly recomend an aftermarket power pin if you get a fat pay check one of these days, or if ur b day is commin up
