Default Fuel questions

So my truck hasn't been ran in a few weeks now and I just took it out today. I let it warm up for about 15 minutes and when I pinned it, it blacked out the road, and it only did that once. When I pinned it again it didn't smoke nearly as much. Should it not smoke that much with my mods? Or did my lift pump crap out while I was driving it? I plan on doing a lift pump pressure test on Monday.

My truck did the same thing a year ago, one day It started smoking bad right off the bottom but it didn't go away when it warmed up. I used to run the old smokey pin also, come to find out the pin had goudged and stuck wide open, look at the pin you will easly be able to tell. changed the pin and no more problem. good luck

Well the pin is pretty much brand new. It's been drivin less than 100 miles since I put it in, but it couldn't hurt checking it out.

A new pin is all the more reason to pull it and double-check that there's no binding or dirt issues.

Alrighty. I just took it out. Looked good except for some what appeared to be oil on there. Wiped it off and put a little grease on it. I'll go do a test drive.

So I did the test drive. I pinned it and there was almost no smoke between 2000 and 3000 rpm. I took the power pin out and there was a line down the middle where the pin thing was riding on the fuel pin, so its not sticky Just not sure how I went from blacking out the sun to california emmissions. Anyone else think thats odd?
