Gov Spring
Yeah, you'll notice a difference, but you should also adjust the high RPM screw and re-set the throttle linkage for the most benefit of your work.
When you go to change the spring, REMOVE THE FUEL SCREW BEFORE YOU TAKE OFF THE PUMP TOP!
You might bend the fueling lever if you don't, then it's wasted effort.
Mark.

If you don't remove the fuel screw, it usually bends the lever in a way that gives it less fuel, so when you are done, the fuel you end up with is less than it could be if the lever weren't bent.
It usually bends AWAY from the fuel screw, if you leave the screw in.
A longer fuel screw would correct it, but there are none available, unless you modify the stock one.
The last pump I did apparently has a bent fueling lever, because I have the fuel screw bottomed and I can't get the idle screw to back clear out.
NORMALLY, I back the idle screw clear out and adjust the fuel screw in until it idles, which is about the max fuel you can get without it "hanging" in RPMs.
Re-indexing the throttle lever makes it so I can't get any adjustment at all, so I'm running it close to what it was before I put in the governor spring.
In truth, the only reason I have more fuel is BECAUSE of the governor spring, as well as adjusting the linkage and running the high rpm screw out.

Ya i bet you will like it. Stock it seems like you have to shift just as the turbo spools up. With the spring, once the turbo spools, you have time to get on it and go, shift and the turbo is still spooled.
And yes be very careful when tearing into your pump. I almost stripped one of the four bolts that hold the top on, and that couldve been an expensive mistake. Oh and be sure to watch out for that top hat and make sure it doesnt launch away when you take the stock spring out.

Search around online, there are a lot of write-ups about changing the governor spring. I didnt remove my power screw all the way, just backed it out a lot and made sure I counted the threads and stuff. I did the spring in about an hour and a half, was the first time I messed with the injection pump and it was not a big deal.
If you have the stock lift pump you may want to change it out, with the mods in my signature I defuel at like 2700 or 2800 rpm due to the lack of fuel from the stock lift pump. Doing an electric one when i get back from Iraq.

and i need a higher reading boost guage soo if you know anyone that needs a good autometer boost guage its the procomp with the silver trim and reads up to 35 psi let me know im gettin rid of it and it works fine
