Ever tried to unlock the convertor and shut off the O/D, BEFORE you stop?
Both can still be active at 20mph, since they aren't computer controlled with the toggles.

Adjust the TV cable per the FSM manual for '93.
Also, make sure that the TV cable moves freely.

considering its got a 47rh in it the tv cable may be adjusted for a 93 whihc oculd be causing the gears to shift funny. i would get it adjusted more along the lines on a 94-98 truck. (they might have the same adjustment though i dont know for sure)

I usually set them with a 3/16 drill bit, or bolt, between TV "peg" and the cable REAR of the slotted end, set so that it's tight to the bit.

One other thing.

Before you go to all this trouble, make 100% sure you have full throttle travel at the pedal by having someone push the pedal to the floor so you can verify that the pump and K/D linkage peg is at full travel.
Adjust the pump linkages accordingly.

If you adjust the TV cable without verifying full travel, it may well still function the same, because you don't have proper full pedal operation.

Also as I mentioned in an above post, make SURE the TV cable is not binding in a partly released position.
Lube it well from boths ends.
They tend to work stiff, because they are hardly ever maintained.

Full throttle good cable moves good @ both ends just seems like when you come to stop with 5spd in higher gear and don't have clutch in?

Still sounds like the convertor is not unlocking.
