Default put 2nd gen seats in today...

So I took the plunge today, I bought a set of seats from a 96 3500 from my buddy, for 250, and installed them into my 93. I still have a few small things I need to do to finish it up, but for the most part the installation was pretty easy.
I didn't do any measurements, just put the new seats in where I wanted them, and then spraypainted the carpet through the bolt holes where I needed to cut the carpet out and drill new mounting holes, but here's a few pics...
Sorry, the sun was in the wrong spot.

the back of both seats on the outside, I had to fab up a bracket, since it was right over the angle of the hump....

(and yes, before the flaming starts, I barely know how to weld, but I got penetration....my welds might not be the prettiest, but they'll hold...I used 1/4 in steel, since I wanted to make sure the bracket wouldn't bend...

I got the passenger seat in, and temporarily mounted the center seat/console, but I need to fab up some more brackets for the front of the center console, to make it sit level...once I get that done, maybe tomorrow, I'll post up a few more pics of the whole assembly.

Well, I had started wondering if the shifter was going to interfere with the center console, especially when I put the cupholders on, and here's what I found out...

So I figured out my own question tonight...I'm not entirely sure this would be an issue, if I had the right cupholders, but I realized tonight that the seats I got were actually from a 98 and up; I should have known, since they had the seatbelts in them, but I didn't think that one through. My buddy gave me one of the center console cupholders, but he gave me one for a 94-97. I made it fit, with some dremeling, and here's the final result of the cupholders...

Now, I had noticed with just the seats in, that the shifter seemed to come really close to the front of the center seat, and I wondered if I was going to run into problems with it, when I put the cupholders in...well, I found the answer to that tonight. I did. But, I was able to figure out a solution to the problem. You've heard of the Lincoln locker, I now introduce the Lincoln shifter! haha, sorry, it's getting late, and I'm getting really tired...

I cut the shifter, right above the bend, cut the top piece at a pretty sharp angle, and then welded it back together, so that it bent further forward. It doesn't interfere with the ashtray, and clears the center console with cupholders with inches to spare.

im in the process of doing this. got some from a 96 to replace my bench seat. i have a regular cab though and notice the hole dont match and when i sit them there, if i build brackets they sit really high. i should be able to make it work if i cut about 2 inches off the new seat frame out right?

has anyone done this before in a regular cab?

the holes aren't going to line up...Mine didn't even come close, but I got the seats set up where I wanted them, and drilled through the floor and made new holes for them.
the brackets I made in the back were designed so that the seat would bolt to something on the back brackets, since the floor dropped down at an angle right there.
