Default Veg Oil

What do you have to do to make the 12 valve run on veg oil, do you have to do a conversion kit?

You need a couple barrels and transfer pumps outside of the truck to mix the veggie with demulsifier and let it settle before running it.

Then you need a pre-filter of sorts before putting it in your tank.

You need an auxillary tank (preferrably heated) in your truck, and a switching system.

You need to run the veggie lines (preferrably heated) through another filter or two (preferrably heated).

A lot of guys use some electric heater elements someplace; there's a few guys who mount them on their injection lines, even.

I have a RamCharger fuel tank grafted into my bed and hundreds of dollars of parts into my system so far. But by God if it isn't going to be the best system anywhere by the time it's installed.

Dont do it, I have seen a ton of VE pump failures from guys running Veg oil. For some reason the VE just doesnt agree with em. My best friend was runnin veg, and not straight veg either and waisted a 20K mile rebuilt VE.

I don't have a truck yet to do it. I am just looking at possibilities right now.

I've never heard that.

Were these properly engineered systems running properly cleaned oil?

What do you use as a demulsifier?

the VE pump(89-93) is of extreamly tight tollerences.........the p-7100 pump (94-98) does the best from what I have read

You need to get the veg oil up to like 175 degrees to make have the same viscosity as diesel fuel. And I would imagine most important thing to do considering the close tolerances of the VE.

I have the book "from the fryer to the fuel tank" by josh tickell has alot of info concerning Biodiesel and SVO kits. Interesting read

The book suggests a hose with in a hose to heat the fuel line. Hot engine coolant flowing in the bigger hose with a fuel line running through the bigger hose the hot coolant surrounds the fuel line warming it up, but I am not sure hot the fuel lines get. Working on gathering materials. The book also references using coolant running through a hose in the Veg tank to heat the oil. It doesnt seem like it would get hot enough to me or not get hot fast enough. I plan trying to electric tank heaters, I am searching for a fuel tank to go in the bed of my truck.
