Default Time for new turbo, Recomendations?

Ok so my little h1c is about to go south on me. Shaft play is ridiculus and im sure its hittin 30 psi boost pullin and comp wheel hitting the housing. So i would like to know what would be a budget upgrade (under $800), or something that worked for you, for my 1990 non-IC dodge (about 280+/- HP), with only minor modifications needed like making a new down pipe or intake horn or air intake from filter. Would an hx35 or hx40 be good? Thanks guys

your kind of in the middle on a budget. you can pick up used turbos for a couple hundred bucks but a semi decent new turbo starts running 11-1200 bucks. hopefully someone will jump in and help ya but my suggestion is save a little more money and get a good turbo that you wont have to upgrade later

when you hit that price range your really able to pick and choose what youd like. its hard to beat a 62/65/12 or 62/65/14 turbo. in that price range you can look at the bd super b, industrial injection phat shaft, you can find a used htt 62 turbo which is a very nice unit. the list goes on and on.

post a thread in the price quote section saying your budget and exactly what you want to do and you should be able to get some good info comin back at ya
