We had one that we ended up having to have the bushings, pins, bearings, and one tie rod end replaced come through our shop. The parts can be pretty spendy, so its better to keep up on the maintenence.

yeah... so I got the full rebuild, why not right?

after bending both my breaker bars and a few pipes I gave up trying to get the kingpin out for awhile. couldn't get the bearing out on the bottom either I could rotate the plate but it wouldn't drop out. have some really bad wear and tire wobble i'm guessing is due to this.

bushings and springs are a year old and don't look worn at all, but i may need more spring preload? how would I do that? after i put it all back together everything was straight and correct, after a 15mi drive to work they were back to leaning.

Check out the D60 kingpin tech article on Pirate 4x4. The best way I know of to get the stubborn kingpins out is to use a die grinder with a thin cutoff wheel to grind out the base of the pin, being careful to NOT grind into the knuckle or past the radius of the thread stud. This relieves most of the torque and corrosion bond from the pin, penetrating oil can then reach the threads, although you may not need it at that point, they should come right out after that.
