3,000mi?!

pretty sure my owners manual states 3,000 under HEAVY use.. towing highway or heavy loads etc. 5,000mi light use.

using synthetics I believe you can go a lot longer than that. I usually get between 6-8k per change, going to send off another sample shortly.

Running Amsoil oil and filter I run out 10,000 miles with no issues. Heath (the amsoil dealer on dieselbombers) can get you all the info on it. By its specs and the oil analysis I could run longer but I dont.

I normally measure fuel filter changes in years as opposed to miles.

You guys always talk about "oil analysis", there places you can send a small sample of oil from your truck to have it analyzed to see if you need to change it?

Sorry for the stupid question, just never really heard anything about this.

I've used Blackstone for years:

Blackstone Labs

But will be switching to these folks soon:

Oil Analysis, Coolant Analysis, Fuel Analysis, Metalworking Fluid Analysis, Fuel Testing, Oil Testing, Coolant Testing — POLARIS Laboratories:

I do mine everyother oil change.

In the 06 I change it when I feel power falling off. Feels like I picked up 25HP everytime I change it.
