Did they ever make 4 door 1st gen diesels? If so how many were made?

 

not in a diesel ive seen gassers tho maybe not 89-93 tho

 

Production from 1981 to 1993: they made 2 dr, 2 dr ex-cab and a 4 dr crewcab dually. I wish I could help you on the quantity. I'll make an educated guess and say somewhere around 100,000 units.

 

I think the last year for the crew cab was 85, but I might be wrong. Thought I read that somwhere.

 

i have only seen like a dozen or so my whole life. And i travel alot. I heard that when crysler was going under that ford and chevy helped them out and said no more full size fourdoors. That was like in the 80's, and hell they still don't make a long back set of doors. (look at the 2gen with no 4, mega cab still has a tiny door) There might be some custom jobs out there

 

They stopped making 4 doors around 85 and they had duallys and single rear wheel trucks. Never put a diesel in a 4 door from teh factory.

the reason i ask about the 4 door diesel 1st gen is my wife and i are thinkin a four door with a camper shell would be our next family rig for her to drive, but it sounds like she will have to make due with a lesser diesel. Oh well.

So when did Dodge make the first 4 door diesel available?

 

spekaing of conversions i am debating on putting a cummins in one of my 4 doors. not sure if i want the '75 '78 or the '84. decisions decisions
