The shifter of my getrag shakes in 3rd gear under acceleration. Just wandering if that is normal? It's done that ever since I baught it, never tries to jump out or any thing. Also there is a slight bump going into 3rd if I try to shift to fast. Any guess?

 

can't say mine shakes.. the feel on the shift lever is smooth.

I do every now and then get a slight grind going into third, like the gears just barely clipped each other or the clutch was half out kinda deal.

check your transmission mounts first.

 

mine will bump only when its cold. other than that a bit of a moan at about 40mph. under hard acceleration.

 

It only does it in third gear. Seems like it would do it in all gears if tranny mounts were bad. That slight grind is exactly what I'm talking about. My shifter feels smooth when I have my hand on it. But it quivers when I let go. And only under acceleration. Just one of those things I guess.

 

check your universal joints

 

hey mine has allways done that in 3rd and 4th, the trucks been in the family since 93 and my uncle got it with 60 or 70k on it shifter allways shakes in 3rd and 4th. i just ignor it, i got 155k on it now and nothings ever happoned so far

so it is just one of those things.

 

as far as i know, never given me a bit of trouble
