Timing Advance
I would like to give my injection timing a bit of a bump, but i dont have the mark on the pump to use as a reference. Punching one onto there is easy enough, but i want to be sure that the timing is still stock before i move it, i dont know the complete history of this truck, but i do know that i wasnt the first guy in the pump when i made my other tweaks. do any of you have a measurement off of something else i could use to make sure its not moved yet? maybe the gap between the AFC housing and the cylinder head? should i just get the tool and do it by degrees? any advice?
mine was stock and i took the top deal where the fuel pin goes in off and measured from the edge of the outside of that to the manifold. my pickup also dose not have the mark. it was right at one inch and i took it to 7/8
Make a mark between the pump and the case, Rotate it to teh head an 1/8 by teh mark. Run it, if it clanks and clatters way to much, pull it back some. IF you do alot of towing I would go less then the 1/8"
