Default Pump swap

I have a 3500 1992 dodge 12v with a rotary pump and want to know if it is possible to put a inline pump on it like on the 1994's and up. What would i need to do this if it is possible and do you think it would be worth the trouble. Thanks

Pump, injector lines, timing gear, housing, cover, throttle bracket, more fuel pressure...
