Default South Bend clutch install

I just installed a South Bend Con O into my '92 (still running a Getrag), I have not yet installed the bell housing because I am not sure if I need to install the spacer in between the pivot ball and throwout fork... The instructions say that the spacer will help with clutch disengagement, but the picture shows a N4500 transmission... Anyone know??
