Default Speed sensor pics

Issues with speed sensor on my 9th month 91 4X4 Cummins. I've read numeruous posts about some marks, and properly setting of these items up. I can't find any marks or any proper info on this. I have no continuity on the vss,so I'm going to town to get a new one ($105.00can). This all is for the lack of a speedo,no overdrive, no cruise, and most of all me no happy. Want a Dodge ext 4x4 CHEAP?

Yeah having no overdrive sucks! At least yours only doesn't work because of a cheap sensor.

Where do I get the reduction unit between the sensor and the gear that goes into the transmission, or what is it called so I can order it from dodge?

Thanks

AH, that sucks! I fought that damned L-shaped adapter for a couple years on my old '92 first gen. Dealer wanted way too much for it, and nobody else knew where to find one, and half the guys didn't have one on their trucks. I even had an 18-wheeler shop repair mine...lasted a few weeks. Did the same bouncing speedo. Have you tried running the VSS straight to the transmission? I ran around that way...the speedo bounced and was way off, but the cruise control worked.

Part number for mine was #4428549 and was $160 at Dodge dealership. There are 6 different types with different part numbers...each for a specific gear ratio/tire size. They called it the Drive Adapter Assembly. I ended up sending my broken one to a speedometer shop, and they made a new one for like $60.

My bouncing speedo is fixed now,the plug from the new vss was not plugged in properly.I might add that the vss came with a new plug.
