THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH PROBLEMS

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING MY TPS SWITCH ON MY 1993 5.9 ADJUSTED ACCORDING TO THE BOOK AND WONDERED IF THERE IS A TEST THAT COULD BE PREFORMED TO THE SWITCH TO TEST IT
