we just fixed this problem on a safari van it was the power steering pump itself try pulling out on the powersteering pulley if it moves out its bad otherwise you need a powersteering pressure tester to check where the pressure is being lost.

nope not yet my clutch arrived today so i put my 5 speed in instead of the auto trans. ill probbaly mess with it tomorrow or thursday. im thinking i got blockage somewhere more than air in the system ebcause i have no leaks anywhere and everything looks tight

Mine wasnt leaking either but it had a bunch of air in it. Its a weird deal, but keep us up to date. Im curious as to what you will find out

ya i caught that too i just didnt say anything about it. but in his defense he was talkin about a safari van

well here is another update for ya guys. i started pulling off high pressure lines to see where i was clogging the fluid, so i pulled the very first high pressure line that goes straight from the ps pump to the inlet on the hydroboost, and it was dry, as if it has never even seen fluid, so i kept the truck running and popped the ps pump camp and it wasnt even swishing around like its spinning. so i came to the conclusion that the power steering pump is bad.

i dont really understand how if it isnt flowing it would cause it to expand, but thats what im going to start in fixing it
