But seriously, I'd buy it, for under a grand you cant go wrong. Good luck.
x2

For $900 I would even look past it killing a few people...

so for $900 just go get it! worry about whats broke or gonna break, later! plenty of time for researching all sorts of stuff once its home!
Never seen a used cummins engine go for 3-3.5 grand... Around 15 is more like it.

I know with my old Mercedes there are tricks you can do, such as looking for blow by out the oil fill cap. what kind of body issues such as rust or electrical problems, should I be checking out, this kind of thing. Again thanks for all of the quick responses. I guess, for that price just the Cummings 12 valve is worth it If it's in good shape.
The rain gutter over teh windshield and teh floor boards are the two main hidden rust areas. These trucks are really basic, if it runs and drives its pretty much in good shape.

I WISH there was a deal like that around me! I'm searching for a nice D350 but they seem to be rare around Houston. Planning on just getting a D250 and swapping in a dually rear later on down the road, but the cheapest I've seen even for a first gen D250 is $2500. $900 is a heck of a deal.

I paid $2,500 for mine. I agree with everyone else, for $900, get it!

With diesels if it starts easy it's good to go.

Sounds like mine almost, except mine's a '92 flatbed that was $1,000. It runs real good and shifts perfectly (manual). My bf and dad said it's a real good deal for it's condition so that's why I got it. Mine leaks diesel when running (just like I bought it) but on mine, it's because of the pump. My dad and his dad used to work on diesel injectors, pumps, etc. for a living so I bought the parts to fix it and just need the time to do it.

Cool, I'm looking at a '91 D350 flatbed right now, might go check it out this weekend and hopefully bring it home with me
