Tip may be coated in enough carbon to hang it up.

good point; do you have all the hold down nuts loose and the injectors bathing in a good penetrating oil? WD-40 or PB blaster?

i use a lug nut and 3/4 pvc 13/8 long to pull mine

i've helped a friend make a puller with a slide hammer b4... a pipe coupler is supringly close and grabs the injector w/o damamging the threads. as for the slide hammer the threads deffinately dont match... we went a little hill billy with this and wrapped abunch of black tape around it then threaded the pipe coupler over it after all it did the trick

what do you mean about the manual fuel shot off? are you talking about the fuel shotoff on the pump?

yeah. any means of keeping the pump from pushing fuel thru the injector lines. unhooking the electric shut off or pulling the lever that is under the AFC housing torwards the cab and zip tying or holding it in that position
