Default runnin like crap

i just swapped a 92 cummins into my f350 starts right up but smokes like crazy. its grey and smells like fuel. i do not have the intercooler hooked up but that shouldnt make this much smoke. it also seems to miss and wont really rev up. i have not touched the pump. i am running a electric fuel pump that i had on my old 7.3 idi would to much fuel pressure to the pump cause this? any help would really be appriciated. im so close to having my truck back

The lift pump will hurt it if its putting out more then 15psi!It probably blew the front seal and is leaking fuel into the crankcase.Check your oil level.Sounds like its to advanced, maybe from to much internal pump pressure.check the timing

Without the turbo connected it's not going to make any boost and signal the pump to send more fuel. Gotta have air and fuel to make power. So if you're not supplying enough air, it's not really going to rev up much. I know when my buddy smoked the turbo on his 95 12v it would hardly run, and it would make a lot of smoke. I would say try temping a tube from the turbo to the intake to see what it does for you. If you're still having troubles you can go from there. As for the miss, depending on how much timing you've got it'll sound almost like it has one. I know my buddy's had a bunch of timing to account for lots of mods on his, and it had a funny sort of lope to it, almost like a drag car that's all cam'ed up. Congrats on swapping a Cummins into a Ford.

you might have to much timing, maybe an air leak in the fuel line, how is your ksb hooked up?

you should need ksb right now.If it blue its likely oil burning.it should smell different. If its white its uburnt fuel due to timing.Check the pump gear make sure your on point "00" with the "0"If its grey it could be retarded.try advancing the pump if that helps then your gears probably a tooth out.
