diesel dorks? thanks bud... and look into indexing the throttle... it's the #1 reason a truck wont start after the 366 install... just play with it abit; takes afew tries... either it wont start or it'll start and idle really high... like 2200 high... if it is at that point just go one tooth back and that should be the sweet spot... or you can grind your throttle lever off like RSWORDS did after he indexed his throttle for better response and more fuel.

smoke screw is just for low end fueling... crack it loose and turn it in once or so... turn the starwheel down a turn and rotate the fuel pin so the deepest setting is facing forward (if you havent already)... if you think the 366 spring brought it to life match it with a tweaked pump. you wont be disappointed

what i told you to do is just a mild mild tune... since you said your smoking pretty good to start with and idk if you have any gauges or not so i kept it simple... get some gauges and go to town with the pump... look around on here there are some excellent posts on pump tuning

Thanks Tow of Pow, I didn't want to tweak my pump too much till I got my Pyrometer for the same reasons you listed, but when I do what does grinding off the leaver in the bottom of the top of the bowl do?

Oh and how do I get that Pain in the *** cover off the smoke screw?

the lever is hooked to the rack... the rack can only travel so far b/c of interference of that lever... grind it down... no more interference and more fuel.... don't worry about that; you'll be plenty happy with the other adjustments. the grinding the lever trick is for guys that have maxed their truck with aftermarket parts and the only way to get more power is to give it more fuel when all the other pump mods are maxed. as for the AFC cap... sharp chisel and a hammer... or just drive a screw driver through the cap and pry it off. gotta be resourceful no special "way" to do it just what ever works
