Speedometer works, Odometer doesn't

My speedometer works fine, but the odometer doesn't move at all. Any ideas?

Your little plastic gears are broken would be my first guess. You will have to pull the speedo head out and check. Never done it but have heard of that problem many times. They are available in the aftermarket.

speedo little plastic gears

they are supposed to be available in the after market... does anyone happen to know where?

I have a 91 dodge cummins le 4 x 4 with a 727 auto tranny
