Finally did an adjustment on mine (Mechanics veh is always in the most disrepair, right?) Made a huge difference.

117k on my truck gettin ready to adj them on mine hopefull this weekend if I dont have to work been going to adj them for going on a month but havent been able to due to work or weather Scheduled for this weekend though

BTW good post rswords good job buddy!!

you guys know under your IP is a little thing you can screw in to lock the cam on top dead center? if not go look it's there kinda nice if you ask me them you know your on top dead center

Yeah, Its the timing pin. Have to be turning the motor VERY SLOWLY to line it up. No prob if you have a barring tool though.

The overlap method is really easy and quick once you understand it. hardest part is just reaching around over top of the engine for a half hour doing it - if you have a bad back, that is.

True, that is a good shortcut. I thought about doing it, but knowing my luck things would get sideways and I would end up hurting something....

its not a screw in tool it simply pushes in or out, has a little o ring on it that creates drag. big l is right though you have to be going very slow or the indent in the back of the cam gear in ingages will shear off the tit on the plunger and then your lost and you have a piece of extra plastic floating around in your front housing gear train...not good

you dont screw anything.its just a push pin

you dont screw anything.its just a push pin.Itll be hard to tell if your there.You have to push in while you rotate the crank.Not an easy task by yourself.Pull it out and stick your finger in there to see if your close.(be sure the engine cant start)
