yea iv got a 93 and had a 92...both with 4 speed automatics...my boss has an 89, and another 93, all have pulled all there life no problem with any of the transmissions so i dont know man, they all aint bad thats 4 sure...always take em out of overdrive if ur pullin anything until u get up to bout 60-65 it'll lengthen the life of the tranny big time!....but i will tell u that allison makes a 4 speed automatic 4 them trucks....problem solved if uv got the money

 

Problem With the allison is all the dang gear noise.

 

Do any of you know what the name of that allison is because i've got the 727 3 speed which is perfectly fine but I need another gear for the highway so i'm trying to explore all my options. So far the best thing i've found is a gear vendors kit for about $1,800. any advice would be greatly apreciated.

 

There's probably several Allisons that'd fit, and probably only half would be an improvement.

I have to wonder how many of these "dey god damb Dodge PoS trannies got all blowed up" transmissions that you hear about could be "fixed" with simple things like band adjustments, TV cable adjustments or TPS fixes.
