I love my first gen because it reminds me of a day when trucks were made for a working purpose, and not just for show.
I love the fact that I own something alot of people don't anymore.
And above all, the old school look and feel as you pull down main street watching everyone's head turn thinking....is that a tank??

I like that it doesn't matter how cold it is the truck fires up before it turns 1 full turn, it gets 17 to 21 mpg with a trailer loaded with 6000 lbs or more of scrap lead and is the most mechanic friendly piece of machinery I have seen in years. With about 1.3 million miles on ours it also proves to be one of the most reliable beasts around.

I love my first gen because at least once a week someone stops me and tries to buy my truck. Never happened with my 3rd gen.

I love the simplicity of my first gen. I love the rough ride, and I love the smell of the interior (a mix of diesel fuel, rust, mold, and old truck in general). I love the way she lopes on a cold morning, and the smell of the diesel exhaust lingering in the cold air. I love that its really the only thing I would have spent that much money on, just for a project truck. I love that first gear is a granny gear, and that I just cannot get the hang of driving it like that, haha.

But, the thing I like most about is the shake that it does when I turn it off.

Default 1 ST GEN

LETS FACE IT..... THE CUMMINS STICKER LOOKS MUCH COOLER ON THE REAR CAB WINDOW THAN POWERTROKE OR DURAMAX......ESPECIALLY ON A FIRST GENS......I STILL LOVE WHEN I GO TO WORK IN MORNING AT 6.AM AND EVERYONE COMES OUT THINKING ITS THE GARBAGE TRUCK.......
