I discovered that even with the "brain box", located in back of the battery, unplugged the truck would still start and run. The gauges don't work and the heater grid don't fire up but that can be hard wired to a switch on the dash. Even so this truck will start in 40 below cold without having to be plugged in with the grid functional. Never attempted to find out how low the temps could go before it wouldn't start without it.
So if we get the dreaded EMP my O3 will have fried electronic everything but I'll still have wheels with the old Teddy Roosevelt - Last of the Rough Riders!
I also like the fact that after 6 months of just sitting, it fired up just fine half way through the first crank!
I wish I had a place to put the poor ole thing inside where I could do a complete restoration. The only thing that don't work is the tape player.
It's the only thing I ever bought in my whole life that actually lived up to it's add hype!
