idle question

My truck has a low stall torque converter in it and it seems very hard to keep it from taking off at a stop light. I am planning on turning down the idle to try and fix the issue. Any suggestions?

What's your idle set at?

I don't have a tac so I'm not sure

I would turn it down as much as you could until it runs smooth in gear. I think it should idle 800 in gear with ac on.
