Hey there.

so first off I have a 1992 w250 4x4 auto cummins single cab

So found out my frame is cracked out around my steering box. My mechanic who is a cummins diesel mechanic recommended 2 fixes to me, im gonna keep this truck for ever so I wanna do it right. either box the frame in and reinforce it. or remount the steering box into the 2wd position. he said he would have to do some fabricating get the 2wd remount to work. So what do you guys think, what is the best fix? with that being said im going to at some point convert my auto to a nv4500 will this be a problem for this future mod. im just thinking everything might fit differently. thanks for your help

 

I think it would be better to box the frame in and reinforce it. So you don't have to relocate the steering gear box later.
