Fuel pin and governor spring question
Hello everybody! Im new to the cummins world, just got my first one, an 89 w250. I live in the mtns and do alot of towing. My truck gets very hot coming over step passes. My question is, if i add more power(Denny T stage II pin and 3200 governor spring) should it pull better with lower EGTs or will the Egts get hotter with the more fuel?
More fuel = more heat.
Governor spring is a good idea. With the higher rpm, you have a chance to move more air; in a lower gear with (i.e. less engine load).
IMO, a bigger turbo would be most helpful. I'd probably pickup a cheap used HX35 and swap over a larger exhaust housing.
Intercooler will help some too.

I have the 5x12s because they practically fell in my lap. I haven't tuned everything out yet, but I'll probably need a bigger turbo at that point.
Non-IC injectors can flow a lot of fuel... more than stock IC ones. Enough to max out an HX35 I'm told. Just a matter of turning the fuel screw. However, more fuel = more power = more heat.
In your case, you need more, colder air before you add more fuel. More timing helps. A straight-thru muffler or no muffler will knock down your EGTs a bit also.

How does the bhaf mod compare to a spectre filter? Also is see a couple new hx35's on ebay for around $300. Are they any good?

I got my '02 hx35 with boost elbow for free. Drilled a 3/4" hole in the divider. Spools great! Shouldn't cost more than $150-200 or so.
Another option is to get a larger compressor side for the H1C. The exhaust side is relatively open and good for towing.
My bhaf is just a wix filter, no airbox, and a ABS plumbing adapter on the stock rubber intake hose. I prop it up in the fenderwell with an empty gallon oil jug.

stock intercooled: 6x.009 = .000380 sq.in.
stock non-intercooled: 4x.013 = .000531 sq.in.
'marine 370': = 5x.012 =.000565 sq.in.
Lucas POD: = 4x.015 = .000707 sq.in.
