what are your opinions i have a nice bucket seats with a big console , the console has an idle adjustment built in so when it is cold it helps warm up faster , so i would have to move that in order to install a bench , i liked my bench in my old truck , not sure what i want to do yet

 

I would (and am planning on doing) a seat from a 99-02, a bench with a decent fold down console, the driver/passenger spots are basically buckets with a spot in the middle for a third person.

 

I like bench seats much more than buckets. Nothing better than having my girlfriend sitting in the middle, my arm around her, cruising down the road listening to that sweet Cummins and some Led Zeppelin.

 

How close are the 99-02 seats compared to the first gens? I was thinking about doing the same but haven't looked into if I will need to make custom brackets or anything to make it all fit right and about the same height.

 

There should be a sticky on this, if not, theres a tech over at the Cummins Forum. Has bracket and frame dimensions....All us Cummins folk gotta stick together....

 

i wouldnt mid putting 99-02 seats in would be a nice change , might look into this aswell , just post here if you have any good info on it for me thanks !

I like a bench seat, but after years and years, it started to be real uncomfortable. I did this install with wine colored cloth seats out of a 2002 into my 91. Worked great. Alot more comfortable. The center seat when you flip it down for a armrest, back opens up for storage, I love it!
