Does anyone know of a radiator cover to keep the truck warm during running time. I remember a custom grill someone made with some kind of way to block off the airflow. It was homeade. I was going thru overheating issues at the time and didn't read it and now cannot find the thread. I guess a piece of cardboard could work. If anyone remembers it please let me know thanks

 

Not sure where your from, but here in northern Utah it gets damn cold in winter. Never had a cover on my radiator to get the heater to cook me like a turkey. I would check my thermostat if it didn't get warm.

 

It's a 180 thermostat but it only heats up to 160 when it's cold out. That temp being so low will not damage anything?

 

Is it a cummins t-stat? My autozone, and napa ones didn't work properly. Cummins is the only one made properly with 2 vent ports in the t-stat.

 

Yeah it's napa or autozone. Will that cause into run cool unless the ambient temp is high. Like 160 ish

 

I use an Auto Zone fail safe thermostat.

 

Am I hurting anything running at 160 degrees. When its warm outside it'll go to 180. I just didn't know for sure.

 

No, its just not running optimal, IMO.
