Default best for home brew

want to get an older model , say pre 03.

I want the most dependability , to be able to run on home brew diesel , and last forever...

What are the advantages to the non computer 12 valve vs the computer one ?

What is the primary mechanical difference between gen 1 and gen 2.

the difference between the 1st and 2nd gen is a difference of injection pumps (1st gen uses ve44 and 2nd gen uses p-7100) and they injection line set up along with a different lift pump. they also have a different turbo. 1st gens have an H1C and 2nd gen has an HX35w. if you want to run bio-diesel, a second gen cummins is your best bet they are supposedly the best candidate for bio-diesel

Definaly the p pump. The VE is lubricated entirely by the fuel where the p pump is oil lubricated.
