getrag input shaft upgrade question
so i just got my dual disc south bend and bigger input shaft in the mail, my question is has anyone here replaced the input shaft before? ive never really torn into a trannsmisson before so im a little worried about this and wondering if maybe i should just pull the tranny and take it to a shop to be done. thanks guys

Could someone shoot me a PM with a estimated cost of over hauling a getrag tranny with all the upgraded parts and every thing I need as far as seals go for a future over haul?

ok if you ar not a very good tech do not it can be tricky and need shop related tools.now after assembly dont use gear oil use synthetic motor oil recomended is 5w30 how to "fix the problem"the oil level is wrong anyone who has rebuit a g360 can tell you the oil fill plug is located a the bottom of the problem bearing go figure i make a tubethat extedes the fill hole up using 1/4 fittings very good results with this setup.raise the level from 7.5 pint to 7.5 quarts now trans fixed

you can fill it for the top PTO cover bolt with 5 qts of syn 5w-40
as far as shafts go there are aftermarket shafts in stock form
but no one makes an "upgraded" shaft only stock forms
its not like the NV 4500 shafts where you can get a bigger size or one made of stronger material

if your rebuilding nothing special needed besides a press, calipers and snap ring pliers
