I've got a 97 12 valve. Guy I bought it from says he was gonna pull with it so tranny is all worked up and says he put 150hp injectors in it. It has stock turbo and boost only runs 11 psi. EGTs will run 14 and keep climbing like nothing and pours out the black smoke as long as you stay in throttle when she locks up. Checked fuel plate and that was custom ground so i threw a stock one in it and it does same thing. He removed the star wheel so i was wondering if this could be creating my problems or if it wouldn't really affect it that much. Seems like it lacks power and with the EGTs, smoke, and low boost i figured its because its getting too much fuel but i'm new to diesel and don't know much.

all of the AFC parts need to be there for you to tune the pump. is the AFC foot still in the pump or did he remove it also?

 

I imagine he gutted the AFC... This sounds like it's gonna be messy!

 

First things first get a good afc back on the pump.

Star wheel and spring are still there. Think its just missing the foot. I've got a pic just don't know how to load it .

 

Without the foot the others are not doing anything. Get a foot in it and i bet you can help it alot.

I looked on ebay for one but can't seem to find one. Is there another name or do you have a part number?

 

Try the wtb section on compd somebody might have one.
