So, on my '96, the star wheel plug on the P7100 pump was all buggered up..



So in searching, I discovered that it was the same thread-pitch and diameter as an O2 sensor. So I bought an o2 bung plug (sounds funny, huh) and replaced the OE piece..

it's also stainless... (I can see this is gonna plummet quickly...)

Yes sir, they are. But I needed one on Saturday, so I slipped down to the local speed shop and picked up the bung assembly (plug and weld-in bung) for $9 and just used the plug portion. I like it that you can use a regular wrench or socket on it, rather than the hex wrench. Not that it needs to be super tight or anything..

 

Im not criticising. Great alternative for sure.

Just thought I'd share my find for those that get in a pinch..

 

Just weld a nut to your plug wouldnt that work?

 

If you have a welder....many people do not

 

But it surely wouldnt cost more then a couple bucks to have someone weld it for you.
